Started on a new collage this week while doing the "daring and dirty work" of getting my family (and myself) through the sniffling, aching flu :). Part of me was frustrated--I've been making lists of blog posts I want to write, marketing emails I want to send, new artwork to create--plus, I always have intentions to respond to all of your lovely comments and visit your blogs. Then we all got weak and tired, came down with a virus, and my inner critic started whispering familiar lies: "You're not good enough, you're not strong enough; your dreams are too big for you because you will always be weak and sick and tired."
But I fought back and decided simply to be thankful for this "down time," to enjoy taking care of my sick family as much as I could and soak up our time together--how often do all four of us get such a good excuse to snuggle up on the couch, nap and watch movies all week?!
This is where most of life is lived, isn't it? In the denim and dirt of the everyday. Here's to daring to make it worthy and beautiful anyway. For if we are faithful in the small things, if we throw our whole hearts into living ordinary days to the fullest, I believe we will discover extraordinary love and grace all around us--that we will be given the desires of our hearts!
